technical school mn At Northland, Student Voices are Heard,Precinct caucuses are the first step in selecting candidates for the general election, said Secretary of State Mark Ritchie. By participating in their local caucus, Minnesotans make their voice heard. Precinct caucuses are meetings organized by Minnesotas political parties to initiate the process of choosing candidates for the 2012 election and policy positions to define the party platform. Caucuses are held in locations all across the state and are open to the public. In order tovote, offer resolutions or become a delegate at precinct caucuses, attendees must be eligible to vote in the 2012 election, live in the precinct, and be in general agreement with thetechnical school mn party principles.

Green Party at the Crookston Library from 6p.m. until 8p.m. The Independence Party will hold an online caucus and more information can be found at . With the 2012 Minnesota caucuses st approaching, Northland Community and Technical College students are participating in Rock the Caucus events. The events are in partnership with the Minnesota State College Student Association and Rock the Vote in their Minnesota communities. Students are encouraged to make sure their voice is heard by showing up and speaking out, according to student senate treasurer Ben Young. Minnesota caucus events are scheduled to take place between 6p.m. and 9p.m. on Feb. 7, 2012. All classes after 6p.m. at Northland have been cancelled on Feb. 7, so that students will have the ability to go to their chosen caucus. As budgets tighten and higher education funding decreases, it is imperative that students become politically active and the first step of the political process is attending the caucus of your choosing. Students will have the opportunity to become politically active at a variety of levels. It is here that you can propose higher education resolutions and become a leader in your community. Students have the ability to work for change and voice their opinions about higher education in areas like tuition costs, access to affordable textbooks, transferability of credits, building maintenance, andgovernment funding levels. Fellow caucus attendees will be members of your community, so you are showing the community the value of Northland and its students by taking an active role in the political process.
